A unique fundraising event for the Victoria Humane Society is returning next week, combining furry friends with fetching fashion.
Models both human and canine will take to the catwalk – or dogwalk – on Sept. 24 for the Victoria Humane Society’s “The event kicks off at 6 p.m. at the Inn at Laurel Point, located at 680 Montreal St. with funds going to theSome of the dogs that will be taking the stage with models will be adoptable.
“Everybody thinks the dogs are a problem but we always joke it’s the models that are more of a problem than the dogs,” said Outlooks For Men owner Dale Olsen.Olsen says the original fashion show started out very small in his own store, raising about $6,000 or $7,000 in the early years.Besides the fashion show, there will be a puppy petting station, giveaways and a silent auction at the event.and include one drink and appetizers, and run $95 each, or $50 for kids 14 and under.
