Some of these graduates are working in jobs elsewhere on the health system, filling roles like receptionists or technicians as they work towards becoming a physician in Alberta. But others are working minimum wage jobs while supporting a family and trying to save up for required exams or training. “CPSA is committed to ensuring our role in licensing physicians and physician assistants is done as efficiently as possible without compromising patient safety,” McLeod said in a statement at the time.
