As someone who has dedicated her career to breaking down systemic barriers for women at all levels, I was disheartened to read Forbes’ recent list of “America’s Most Innovative Leaders.”

The list as constructed failed to capture those who are today’s most innovative leaders. The backlash generated around its shortcomings on social media and elsewhere was intense and warranted. Many of the sentiments expressed were ones I shared. I’m appreciative of those voices that hold us accountable and ensure that we’re working to eliminate pervasive barriers rather than compound them.
