Jersey Cares MLK Day of ServiceIt’s cold work, but will warm thousands eventually. Volunteers working viaorganized mounds of coats Sunday after removing them from a full shipping container and sorting them piles for men, women, boys and girls and then repacked them to be distributed across New Jersey.
Volunteers worked on the effort, in a parking lot behind an office building in Branchburg, as part of the national“Anybody can be great…because everybody can serve,” said Dean, quoting Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.“I like doing this,” said The College of New Jersey student Kara Magliaro, who is taking a class on community service.
“When we think about coats in particular we tend to think it is a nice way to be warm, especially if you have lots of coats,” Dean said.
