“In the last year we’ve seen a 34 per cent increase in working Albertans coming to our food bank in Calgary — that is, folks who are working every day and just can’t make ends’ meet. “The single biggest impact to food costs right now in our country is coming from the increase the fuel cost and that’s because everywhere from the farm to transportation to grocery stores, to grocery stores themselves, are impacted by that carbon tax,” Nixon said.“The reality is that everything comes in our society either by truck and or train.
