Cops say that Star Wars fanatic John Stevens, 59, who regularly appears at events as Luke Skywalker, was arrested Wednesday in Cincinnati. He is charged with multiple counts of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor, court records reveal. According to police, the poor man’s Flash Gordon had numerous photos and videos on his mobile phone of “very young female children” engaging in twisted sex acts with adult males.Stevens has been doing the Skywalker schtick for years and did good business with bookings for events to support kids’ charities. Ronald McDonald House and the Dragonfly Foundation both benefitted from Stevens’ largesse.
But there was a disturbance in the force, according to Cinci detectives. He had three videos and five images on his phone of the same little girl.Even hardened prosecutors noted that details were “too profane to say out loud in front of the media.” Stevens has a social media following of more than 30,000., the space opera enthusiast gained widespread attention at a California Comic-Con in 2016 when patrons thought he was actor Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars series.
Stevens is currently being held on a $200,000 bond at Hampton County Prison. Prosecutors had requested a high bond because jailhouse headshrinkers claimed: “Fantasy fuels the behaviour in this case.”
