“It could be someone that had a machine break down and they can’t afford that month to buy a new one or buy parts,” she continued.The closest laundromats are located in communities 20 to 40 minutes away, she said. Meaning, residents would have to travel by car or take a taxi to access them.
“I got the perfect spot. Why not offer that to the community? It’s a great opportunity to support, give back, help the ones that need it,” said Chad Singleton, who owns several properties in town. “You know yourself today it’s hard enough just to make a living as it is. So, you start putting that expense on top of having to travel 30 kilometres to go do your laundry. That’s pretty crazy.”
