ALAN TITCHMARSH has shared an 'important' tip gardeners should follow when planting their rhododendron flowers in late spring to summer. The gardening expert said rhododendrons will 'flower year after year' but they should never be planted 'too deeply'.
Rhododendrons that have been planted too deeply are often reluctant to flower and can sit and sulk instead of blooming. Mulching around the plants with a couple of inches of chipped bark will keep down weeds and help seal in moisture.Alan said: “The important thing to remember is never to plant them too deeply”Alan also advised which soil best suits rhododendrons for them to bloom.
