Yesenia Casiano, 39, of Lutz, was charged with aggravated battery causing bodily harm according to the Pasco County Clerk. Several children in her home witnessed the incident, police said.
A Florida woman has been accused of biting off part of her boyfriend's thumb during a heated argument before fleeing the scene, a sheriff's office has said.
The male victim has not been named. The Pasco County Sheriff's Public Information Office did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the investigation. The male victim—the father of one of the children—was rushed to Suncoast Emergency Care. Casiano fled in a black Ford van tagged"IHMM70" before officers arrived. It is believed that the pair lived in the home together and the additional children were from a previous relationship.
Under Florida law, the charge of aggravated battery is typically considered to be a second degree felony, according to the criminal defense law firm. Penalties upon conviction can include up to 15 years in prison or 15 years of probation, and up to $10,000 in fines.
