A Chime customer claims that he lost more than $6,500 when his phone and wallet were stolen in Dallas. He hopes his story serves as a cautionary tale for those who use the fintech company's app.
Financial technology app Chime has dealt with some unhappy customers who claim that their accounts were fraudulently drained, with little help from the company.and lounge in Deep Ellum. The next thing he knew, he said, someone had stolen his phone and money-clip wallet.

Although she had tried for months to get reimbursed for the $1,000 she’d lost, the company promptly credited her account after the station got involved.
“It is happening,” she continued, “and we're hoping that more will be done to protect consumers who are using these apps, which is millions of people.”
