Heathrow airport says that there were more passengers expected at the airport than it had the capacity to serve
Heathrow Airport has said that it asked for its Belfast flights to be cancelled as there were too many passengers attending the airport today.
Heathrow has said that the move was made after it was expecting higher passenger numbers at the airport than it would have been able to safely manage.30 flights out of 1,2000 scheduled were cancelled and it is understood the Belfast ones were selected as passengers had other options available to rebook a flight to the city.
