Flights have been grounded and passengers evacuated after a suspicious item was detected in a piece of luggage at University Park Aiport, officials said Friday evening. Pennsylvania State University Police and Public Safety said the passenger terminal was evacuated out of an abundance of caution, and the explosives devices team is on-site in a statement made around 6:30 p.m.“There were no incoming or outgoing flights scheduled at the time of the evacuation,” police said.

One traveling student told the outlet that authorities were looking for a specific person right before he was going to board his flight. When the person was not located, the passengers were moved, then later evacuated.
