As a federal government shutdown becomes more and more likely, San Francisco's annual celebration of armed forces could face cancellation.
Event organizers announced they are in contact with the Navy and"other military partners" and are ready to take guidance in the event the government does not acquire funding, but are otherwise prepping as normal for the planned celebration. The City is also awaiting word from federal partners and for action in the legislative branch. Mayor London Breed's office told The Examiner city officials are keeping an eye on government proceedings and considering the adverse effects a shutdown would have on San Francisco.
