Flash flood warning issued for Central Pa until Tuesday morning. Heavy rain and thunderstorms may bring up to 3-inches of rain widespread, according to the National Weather Service.

Meteorologists are urging drivers to avoid flooded roadways, as rain pushes across Pennsylvania on Labor Day.

A flash flood watch is in effect for most of central Pennsylvania until Tuesday morning. National Weather Service meteorologists said the weather conditions may bring up to three inches of widespread rain. The weather agency issued a high risk for flash flooding for parts of north-central and northeastern Pa. The flash flood watch has branched out to include Adams, York, and Lancaster Counties on the list.

The Lower Susquehanna Valley has also been added to the flash flood watch. Heavy rain is likely in this area overnight into Tuesday morning as well.“It’s kind of a slow-moving throttle boundary that’s dropping southward across Pennsylvania. There’s a lot of moisture coming up out ahead of it,” said Evanego. “But gradually through the day tomorrow the rain will be more suppressed southward and then eventually out of the area.
