The takeaway for the Calgary Flames in a 6\u002D5 victory over the Los Angeles Kings was the two points and a little bit of timely confidence.
It wasn’t like that seven-game slide at all.They scored with the man-advantage. They set a season-high goals for in a game. And all four lines contributed in scorching Kings netminder Jonathan Quick.“It was good for confidence,” Lindholm said. “Obviously, we haven’t scored a lot of goals this season, so if everyone can get a couple of goals, it’s always nice, and it’s good for the offence.”

Toffoli notched goal number six — of both the Flames game and his season — five minutes later, when he finished off a two-on-one with Lindholm with authority. Credit Adam Ruzicka on the play, as he took advantage of an untimely Sean Durzi pinch at the opposition blue-line by making a heads-up swift pass to Lindholm skating out of the zone.
Kopitar nearly tied it up in the final half-minute, but Markstrom — who faced 29 pucks on the night — got over hard and got his arm on a dangerous shot in tight to preserve the decision. It was another ‘wow’ save from the goalie, who seems to have found his rhythm when it matters.
