Subject of emergency alert message arrested - May 2, 2024 | SaltWire #dartmouth #update #suspectFREDERICTON, N.B. — Five youths were arrested last week in connection with several vehicle thefts and repeated flights from police in Fredericton.
In a Thursday statement, Fredericton Police Force said the suspects had fled from police multiple times at different locations in the city, clocked going more than 50 km/h over the speed limit as they fled.The suspects were arrested on April 25 by Fredericton Police Force's Street and Drug Crime Unit, in which two were held in custody awaiting court appearances, with the other three released on conditions.
Officers believe the thefts are"crimes of opportunity, and not related to a larger organized operation."Possession of stolen property over $5,000;Fail to comply with release order;Fail to comply with youth probation order.
