EDMONTON — RB Global has announced that Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers sold 14,500 equipment items, trucks and vehicles at its Canada auction event in Edmonton recently.

The five-day auction generated nearly $250 million in gross transaction value, a new Canadian record, stated a release. The April 29 to May 3 online and onsite auction attracted more than 21,000 bidders from 43 countries, with approximately 94.2 per cent of the equipment selling to Canadians, including 63.3 per cent purchased by Albertans. The remaining 5.8 per cent of the equipment was purchased by international buyers.

“Our April-May Edmonton event once again delivered a huge selection of equipment, including lots of late-model, low-hour gear coming off recently completed jobs and ready to go to work for new owners in the next season,” stated Jeff Jeter, chief revenue officer for RB Global, in a statement. “Ritchie Bros.

Upcoming equipment and truck auctions include the Montreal auction, May 15 to 17; and the BC Regional Event May 29 to 30.
