The Cats, mired in a mini two-game losing streak, made the most of a two-day break and rediscovered the win column on the road on Thursday night, scoring four times in the 10th inning to outlast the host Rochester Honkers 9-5.
With Urlaub on third, Duncan Matthew walked. Lucas Terilli followed with an RBI single and then, with two outs, Kyle Morrison stepped up the plated and promptly doubled to centre, scoring the two baserunners to put the game out of reach. Kansai Sugimoto got the start for thunder Bay on the mound, and lasted into the sixth inning, allowing three runs, two of them earned, on six hits and three walks.Thunder Bay took its first lead of the night in the third, newcomer Brody Chrisman driving in one run on a ground out and Miller another with an RBI single. They added two more in the fifth. Zane Skansi came in on a passed ball and Cole Ketzner scored on a wild pitch, giving Thunder Bay a 4-1 lead.Mattie Thomas led off with a double.
It stayed that way until the eighth when Terilli reached on an error, allowing Miller to score the tying run, ultimately sending the game to extra innings.
