The first-degree murder trial for Kirk Keeping has been postponed again, despite a judge’s warning last year that it wouldn’t be.
Within days, Kirk Keeping, now 39, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in what witnesses described as a “horrible act of violence.” He then applied for a private lawyer to be paid by the province, with new trial dates set for last year. Justice Glen Noel granted that delay last year, but told Keeping it would be the last, noting the importance of seeing justice done for the victim, grieving family, and the community.
