It is only early May, but Alabama will continue a preview of late June for the first few days of the week. Afternoon highs will skyrocket into the 89-94 degree range today, tomorrow, Wednesday and, depending on the rain coverage, perhaps Thursday.
Waves of rain and thunderstorms become likely by Thursday and lingering into Friday. Early data suggest that one or more large clusters of storms could form, with some potential for damaging wind and/or large hail in the most intense cores. The timing and magnitude of any severe weather threat is TBD, but there’s enough in the early data to warrant some discussion. For now, just know that rain and rumbles become more likely by Thursday and Friday and some of those could be strong.
