Canada Day 2024 is fast approaching, and this will bring the usual celebrations and business closures. Fireworks and celebrations Pickering’s Canada Day
begin at The Esplanade Park, with music, a skate park and children’s entertainers. The events move down to Kinsmen Park for more music.welcoming families to Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complexwill be ready to go at Palmer Park. Organizers are planning a parade, a free hot dog barbecue and plenty of musical entertainment.. Automobile enthusiasts can check out the car and truck show. There will also be inflatables and a mini escape room.at Thomson Memorial Park and its various history museums.
Many grocery stores appear to be closing Monday, although you may wish to call your local supermarket ahead of time.Uxbridge Urban Provincial Park will be opening to the publicThe Robert McLaughlin Gallery is open Saturdays and Sundays, but closes on Mondays.The Oshawa Zoo should be open all weekend.The Ontario Regiment Museum will be open all weekend.
The Oshawa Museum will have interactive displays on Monday as part of the festivities at Lakeview Park. Some attractions in Toronto will be open all weekend, including the Toronto Zoo, CN Tower, Ripley’s Aquarium, Art Gallery of Ontario, Hockey Hall of Fame and Casa Loma.Movie theatres are also welcoming families for holiday matinees.
The Oshawa Centre and The Shops at Pickering City Centre will both be closed on Monday.The TTC will run on a modified Sunday schedule, beginning around 6 a.m.
