A Toronto Fire spokesperson told CP24 that a transformer pole caught fire near George St. and King St. E., causing the power outage in the surrounding area.shows more than 5,000 homes and businesses are affected by the outage, which appears to be from Yonge St. to east of the Don Valley Pkwy, and north of Wellesley St. E. down to Lake Shore Blvd., Cherry St. and the Harbourfront.Traffic lights are down along Dundas St. W. from River St. to beyond Sherbourne St.
