The province is expanding the sales of alcohol beyond the Liquor Control Board of Ontario and the Beer Store.

It began with grocery stores carrying beer and wine, and last week, convenience stores were allowed to begin selling wine, beer and ready-to-drink cocktails.However, to speed up that process, the province reached an agreement with The Beer Store. The Ontario government is providing The Beer Store with up to $225-million to make the necessary investments over the next 19 months to support a stable transition and help keep its stores open and workers employed.A member of Parliament with the Ontario Liberals has requested the Financial Accountability Office investigate.FAO says they are currently in the early stages of their investigation.
