There’s been a lot of activity in the Alberta film and television industry over the past year and the best productions will be chosen at the 48th Annual Alberta Film & Television Awards in September yyc
Finalists in 55 categories were announced this week and Calgary’s Seven24 Films was the top nominee with 15 nods for shows Heartland and Jann. Joe Media Group was next with 14. The Rosies will be handed out at two celebrations this year on Sept. 24. The first show will celebrate Class Awards – Scripted Feature, Scripted PSA, Corporate Production, Educational, Student Award, Best Promotional Production and Best Production Reflecting Cultural Diversity; Craft Awards – Web Host, Narrator, Make-up, Costume, Screenwriters, Overall Sound and Score. These awards will take place in Theatre 5 at Cineplex Eau Claire Market beginning at 2:30 p.m.
The evening reception at the Petroleum Club will be emceed by actor Ryan Belleville . This ceremony will focus on Class Awards – Best Scripted Series or Mini-Series, Unscripted Series, Best Unscripted Production over and under 30 minutes, Music Video, Music/Variety, Web Series, Children’s, Commercial over and under $50K; Craft Awards – Best Actor, Male & Female, VFX, Animation, Production Design/Art Direction, Cinematographer, Editor and Director.www.ampia.
