Spirit of Vancouver Island continues to be out of service for repairs, while Guns N’ Roses were scheduled to perform in B.C. Place Stadium in Vancouver on Monday

Ferry sailings between Victoria and Vancouver were busy again Monday, with a three-sailing wait until early evening due to a large vessel out of service and a Guns N’ Roses concert.

B.C. Ferries suspended Spirit of Vancouver Island sailings from Oct. 10 to 18 while repairs to a crack in the aft ballast tank are underway, leaving only the Coastal Inspiration and Spirit of British Columbia serving the Swartz Bay to Tsawwassen route.Sailings at two-hour intervals until 5 p.m. between Swartz Bay and Tsawwassen were showing full as of late morning on the B.C. Ferries website, with limited room for vehicles on the 7 p.m. departure.

B.C. Ferries says when sailings are listed as “full” on its website, there may be space available for additional vehicles depending on how many customers do not show up for their reservations, the size of vehicles that arrive, and the ability of deck crew to fit more vehicles. It warned, however, that those travelling in a vehicle without a booking might experience sailing waits.
