'Now that both sides made their cases, it's clear the president’s actions were wrong. He withheld vital foreign assistance for personal political gain. That can’t be allowed to stand,' Feinstein said in a tweet on Tuesday.
, California Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, said she was misunderstood.
“Nine months left to go, the people should judge. We are a republic, we are based on the will of the people — the people should judge. That was my view and it still is my view.”However during the scrum with reporters Feinstein finished her thought and explained she'd changed her opinion and added that senators are “not finished” with the trial and that she is “processing” everything before she votes.
The Times updated the story several hours after it was published to say Feinstein had said she was misunderstood.
