Quirky and carnivorous cult musical opens Sept. 12
"Step into a world where the quirky meets the carnivorous in our thrilling production of Little Shop of Horrors," the theatre states.
The cult classic musical, directed by Anna Russell, tells the story of Seymour, a florist who finds a man-eating plant that changes his life forever, particularly when it comes to the woman he pines for, Audrey.Loosely based on the 1960 Roger Corman horror movie of the same name, this version is a comedy rock music that was written by Howard Ashman with music by Alan Menken. It was an off-Broadway hit and was adapted into a 1986 movie starring Rick Moranis as Seymour.
Tickets are available at the Theatre Northwest box office, 556 North Nechako Rd., Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.Content Warning: Theatre Northwest advises that this production contains harmful stereotypes, portrayals of domestic abuse, mentions of poverty, death, and outdated language that may be offensive to some viewers.
