Feds, province announce funding for new housing development

THUNDER BAY — Work could begin in the coming weeks for a new housing development on the city’s north side.

Justin Marchand, the chief executive officer of Ontario Aboriginal Housing Services, said the first phase will see two 12-unit buildings constructed. “We want to ensure communities like Thunder Bay have a housing target that makes sense, and that we provide mayors like Mayor [Ken] Boshcoff with the tools to get those shovels in the ground,” Clark said.
