SYDNEY — The federal government is contributing $1 million to erosion-control projects along the Bras d’Or Lake shoreline in the First Nation communities of Potlotek and Eskasoni.

Cape Breton-Canso MP Mike Kelloway: “We are working together to protect Miꞌkmaw communities from the effects of erosion and extreme weather.” CONTRIBUTED - Staff Erosion-control funding will also contribute to the protection of Chapel Island, a small island in the Bras d’Or Lake near Potlotek that holds cultural and historical significance for the Mi’kmaq.
