JOHN'S, N.L. — The 21st annual Feast of Cohen will make a return to LSPU Hall for a three-night run on Jan. 5, 6 and 7.The series began as a way for Hynes to shake the post-Christmas blues, but quickly became a much-loved and much-anticipated event.
That first year saw people packing the LSPU Hall to the point where there were audience members sitting on the floor. Since then, the series has taken turns at Holy Heart Theatre and the St. John's Arts and Culture Centre, but is back at the LSPU Hall this year. The 2023 Songs from Leonard Cohen's songbook will feature Newfoundland artists Hynes, Jill Porter, Sean Panting, Lori Cooper, Jenny Gear, Matthew Hornell, Amelia Curran, with special guest appearances from Kelly McMichael, Peter Youngtree, Kat McLevey and Joel Thomas Hynes.
The Beautiful Losers Band, featuring Sandy Morris, Dave Panting, Geoff Panting, Andrew McCarthy, Maria Cherwick and Paddy Byrne, will provide accompaniment.
