Five people were displaced, and a woman is in the hospital in extremely critical condition.PHOENIX — Five people are out of their home and a woman is in the hospital after a house fire in north Phoenix early Thursday morning, a spokesperson with the city fire department said.
According to the department, the fire started at a home near 43rd Avenue and Bell Road around 1:45 a.m. Fire crews arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the house, and started to extinguish the fire while searching the home for anyone inside, the department said. Firefighters found one person who needed rescue inside, and two others who had already gotten out in the backyard. The other two residents reportedly weren't home at the time of the fire.
