The same FBI personnel who warned social media companies that the Hunter Biden laptop could be part of a potential Russian 'hack and leak' operation ahead of the 2020 election knew that it was not disinformation, an FBI official told the House Judiciary Committee.
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, speaks on Capitol Hill in Washington. In a letter to FBI Director Wray on Thursday, Jordan wrote that the FBI"made an institutional decision to refuse to answer direct questions from social media companies about the laptop’s authenticity—despite months of constant information sharing up to that time."

The same day the New York Post story published--Oct. 14, 2020--Dehmlow said FBI representatives"attended a previously scheduled meeting with Twitter, during which a Twitter employee asked the FITF about the authenticity of laptop."
After that meeting with Twitter, FBI personnel"immediately deliberated internally about what information about the laptop the FBI would reveal to social media companies when asked in upcoming meetings." "According to Dehmlow, during these internal deliberations the decision was made that FITF would say ‘no comment’ going forward," Jordan wrote.
