Here's how the fashion industry are showing their support for Ukraine 👏
Over the past few weeks, we’ve watched designers such as Balenciaga, Dior and Gucci display their latest collections on runways around the world.
Not only have fashion houses showcased touching tributes through the clothing and set design, but models including Mica Argañaraz, Gigi Hadid and her sister Bella have pledged to donate part or all of their earnings towards Ukrainian organisations. Inspired by her initiative, Gigi announced in an Instagram post that she’s also donating her “earnings from the Fall 2022 shows to aid those suffering from the war in Ukraine, as well as continuing to support those experiencing the same in Palestine.”
But it’s not just models who have stepped up in support of Ukraine. The Balenciaga show at Paris Fashion Week served as a tribute to the unfolding conflict in the country. Commenting on the show, Demna wrote on Instagram: “The war in Ukraine has triggered the pain of a past trauma I have carried in me since 1993, when the same thing happened in my home country and I became a forever refugee.
