“To end the weekend like we did today with three medals in the mass start is fantastic. It’s a demanding race but the semi-finals are even more intense, so for our athletes to rebound and end like that was fantastic for our team.” “We had to catch those four girls in the front and we all worked collectively,” she said. “I think it was a great strategy for the whole pack to try to catch up to those four girls. I was happy with it. Schouten got away from me at the final sprint but there’s only so much I can do with the legs that I’ve got, with a big weekend.”Article content
“I was a bit disappointed in my 1500 the past two weeks so this was redemption, for sure,” smiled Howe, who then described watching a couple of guys in front of him slide into the corner. “A little bit of excitement because I’m like, ‘Oh, I’m in medal position now’.
