Toronto FC finished the MLS regular season with a bang \u002D\u002D as in TFC coach Javier Perez banging his head against the wall.
Morrow, 34, arrived in T.O. ahead of the 2014 season and has been a rock on the backline, helping the Reds capture an MLS Cup, qualify for three MLS Cup final appearances, win a Supporters’ Shield, three Eastern Conference Championships, and three Voyageurs Cups. TFC broadcast a number of video tributes on the scoreboard and the club presented Morrow with a framed jersey while the fans chanted his name.
The loss dropped the Reds to six wins, 18 losses and 10 draws on the season, placing them second-last in the Eastern Conference, ahead only of perennial carpet-dwellers Cincinnati, though the Reds did play better under Perez in the second half of the season after he took over from fired head coach Chris Armas.
The visitors jumped into a 3-1 lead after a wild first half on two goals by Ola Kamara and another by Steven Birnbaum while Richie Laryea replied for the home side. Two of the visitor’s goals came via corner kicks. Kamara’s goals were his 18th and 19th of the season, tying Valentín Castellanos of NYCFC for the MLS scoring lead.
TFC centre-back Chris Mavinga left the game after the first half with a possible concussion while Altidore left with a sore groin.
