An Ottawa woman, already battling Stage 3 lung cancer and pneumonia, contracted COVID\u002D19 at The Ottawa Hospital. Her family wants answers.

Glenda Senack was both sick and vulnerable when she was admitted to the General campus of TOH on Aug. 8. She had been rushed there from her Barrhaven home, struggling to breathe, battling pneumonia, and suffering from Stage 3 lung cancer.Eight days later, the 65 year old tested positive for COVID-19. She had recently been moved to a room with three other patients, some of whom had unmasked visitors and one of whom tested positive for COVID-19 a day earlier.

“We are hoping for the best and remaining optimistic, but this could prove to be catastrophic,” he said.Charlie Senack. This was kind of my worst nightmare about what could potentially happen. I understand why they have to move . It is a difficult jigsaw puzzle. But, at the same time, they should be ensuring the wellbeing of the patients. That should be the first priority and, in that situation, I don’t think it was done,” he said.
