Each Christmas for 30+ years, my late father's brother (and wife) and I mail cards & little notes to each other. A nice way to keep in touch since we live far apart. Got my mail on the 26th, their card was there. Made me so happy to see it, took it with me to a doctor's appointment and opened it in the waiting room. Aunt wrote that she'd gotten my card and was 'sorry to learn' that I didn't know he'd died. SIX months ago. OMG and what the hell? Dozens of cousins, other family members etc.
