B.C. health officials are set to provide an update Tuesday on the province's fall COVID-19 booster program, sharing timing and eligibility information regarding the newly approved bivalent vaccine.
B.C. health officials are set to provide an update Tuesday on the province’s fall COVID-19 booster program, sharing timing and eligibility information regarding the newlyProvincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry, Health Minister Adrian Dix and Dr. Penny Ballem, executive lead of B.C.’s COVID-19 immunization plan, will be addressing the media starting at 2 p.m.for adults, also known as a “bivalent” vaccine targeting the original and Omicron variants.
Following the vaccine’s approval, Henry and Dix said the B.C. government was ready to deliver it to people as soon as possibleCanada buys up millions more doses of Moderna’s bivalent COVID-19 vaccine “Once the supply arrives, we are all set to begin distribution. We expect the vaccines to come over several weeks and most people should be able to get one in September or October,” they said, noting vaccines will be available in health-authority clinics and pharmacies.Sign up for our newsletter to get breaking news and daily digests sent to your email.On Thursday, Henry and Dix encouraged everyone to get up to date with their COVID-19 vaccines to keep themselves and those around them safe.
