Daylight saving time wraps up for the season on Sunday, November 5.

Many will change their clocks by putting them back an hour before bed, with the time officially changing at 2 am for most of the province.

However, Kenora, Fort Frances and other northwestern towns west of Thunder Bay will stay the same as they run on Central Time and don't change their clocks during the year. For the next few months, the entire province will be in the same time zone until the switch back to Daylight Saving Time in mid-March.

The province tabled and received royal assent on a private member's bill, the Time Amendment Act, to put the province on Standard Time for the entire year. However, Quebec and New York state would also have to be on board as all three areas share trade. This time of year is also an excellent reminder to check smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms and other home safety measures that take batteries.
