When it comes to some of your favorite hits, Dallas Austin is the man behind the music. From Monica, to TLC, to Goodie Mob, the list of songs produced by Austin goes on and on. And with production credits for Pink, Madonna, and Gwen Stefani, his resumé goes far beyond hip-hop.
On June 13, Austin was inducted into the 50th Songwriters Hall of Fame Awards — an honor that was way past due. Not only is Austin a musical genius, but he’s also an artist in residence and philanthropist. Throw in his title as Ambassador for the Gumball 3000 and Global Citizen Forum, and you’ve got a culture icon. The Atlanta native has produced more than 60 hit singles that debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 list with over 20 songs spending numerous weeks in the Top 10 list.
Heading into BET Awards weekend, the multi-Grammy award-winning artist hosted a Pop-Up Shop to relaunch his clothing line, Rowdy, on Wednesday night. Austin’s clothing line is in collaboration with Konus Brand, an L.A. based global manufacturer and distributor of unisex streetwear. The Pop-Up featured clothing lines: Konus, The Rowdy Collection, No End Denim & Blank State — all developed by Konus.
