New, disturbing details were revealed about former Yakima police officer Elias Huizar by officials in Benton County.

Huizar , a former Washington state police officer, was on the run Tuesday, April 23, 2024, after killing two people, including his ex-wife, who had recently obtained a protection order against him, authorities said. The Washington State Patrol late Monday issued an alert that the ex- Yakima officer had fled with his 1-year-old son.
Two teenagers said Huizar raped them, and his ex-wife had a protection order against him. The 39-year-old was accused of killing his ex-wife and the 17-year-old mother of his 1-year-old son, whose kidnappingThe terror Huizar is accused of causing before his death goes back a half dozen years, according to court documents, when he was a school resource officer in Yakima. That's where he first met Angelica Santos, the teenage mother of his 1-year-old son.
Students at Wiley Elementary returned to school Wednesday, though Superintendent Dr. Shelley Redinger said the school day was far from normal. One of the students who witnessed that shooting was Huizar and Rodriguez's 9-year-old son, according to police.
