A former Sandy Fire Department captain has been charged with 15 felonies and seven misdemeanors for allegedly secretly filming teen and preteen girls while they were partially or totally nude.

Clinton Mark McKee, 45, was charged in 3rd District Court with 14 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, second-degree felonies; one count of voyeurism against a child under the age of 14, a third-degree felony; and six counts of voyeurism by concealed electronic equipment, class A misdemeanors. According to charging documents, on Jan. 10., Kik — a mobile messaging app — reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that a subscriber possessed files containing child pornography. Police confirmed that, traced the subscriber to South Jordan and identified him as McKee.and seized thumb drives, an external hard drive, digital cameras, a cell phone and a laptop computer.

Police said that he also confessed that, for about a year, he “had secretly hidden cameras in his wife’s salon to record videos of female children getting spray tanned while nude.” McKee said he would set up the camera before an appointment and then remove it afterward. He also admitted he took videos of girls getting dance costume and dress fittings “in his wife’s sewing room.
