Elliott never again averaged 5 yards per carry and only once topped 4.5. The three-time Pro Bowler took a significant step back in 2022, finishing the year with 876 rushing yards and no 100-yard rushing games. Elliott struggled down the stretch with just 63 yards total in the last three regular season games.
His struggles coincided with the rise of Tony Pollard, who had a career-high 1,378 yards from scrimmage this past season. His average of 5.94 yards led all backs.
