Just over six months after the show's finale, Ewan McGregor is reaffirming his hopes for ObiWanKenobi season 2 to be made. 'I was so happy to do it again, and so happy to work with Hayden again, and I hope we get the chance to do it again.'
As Disney+ continues to branch out its small-screen projects, Ewan McGregor remains hopeful for an Obi-Wan Kenobi season 2.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY In a recent interview with Disney Studio Awards to discuss the show's awards season chances, Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen reflected on their Star Wars returns in Obi-Wan Kenobi. When asked about the possibility of a season 2, McGregor reaffirmed his interest to come back once again for a new story, fondly remembering his time on season 1 of the Disney+ series.
I was so happy to do it again, and so happy to work with Hayden again, and I hope we get the chance to do it again. In the old days, I would joke about, ‘There must be a good story to tell between 'Episode III' and 'VI'.’ But, it’s true. I always felt that there was. I feel like Deborah Chow found it and absolutely nailed it.
On the flip side, however, composer Natalie Holt indicated there being some doubt about a potential Obi-Wan Kenobi season 2, noting that while she'd love to return, director Deborah Chow indicated the show already told a "completed story.
How Obi-Wan's Story Can Continue While touted as a limited series, Obi-Wan Kenobi left a number of story paths open to explore in a potential season 2, namely his training with the Force ghost of Qui-Gon Jinn for unknown new abilities.
