Former franchise star and current producer Bruce Campbell reveals that new Evil Dead movies could be releasing much more frequently in the future.
Evil Dead franchise producer Bruce Campbell reveals that he and Sam Raimi plan on releasing new installments more frequently moving forward. After the success of Raimi's first movie back in 1981, Campbell returned as Ash Williams for two sequels and, more recently, a TV show. Director Fede Álvarez released a soft reboot of the franchise in 2013, and now, Lee Cronin's Evil Dead Rise is set to return to the franchise's roots with a deeper connection to the original films.
“I think the stories will progress a little more now. We’re going to try and do them more like every two or three years rather than every 10 years. It’s also the first time Sam is working with his brother Ivan to create an overall Bible that will give future writers and directors an idea of where this thing should go next to potentially tie in some of these stories.
Evil Dead Rise Sets Up The Franchise's Best Future The movie may not be officially out just yet, but Evil Dead Rise's early reviews and first reactions would suggest that it might be the best entry in the franchise in decades. Cronin's new take on the source material transports the horror out of a secluded cabin in the woods and into a cramped Los Angeles apartment complex, which is a drastic departure.
