An estimated half-a-million people are expected to participate or spectate in celebrations
It's estimated that around 250 bonfires will be lit across Northern Ireland on the Eleventh Night. On The Twelfth, 18 venues across the country will host processions to mark the 332nd anniversary of the Battle of the Boyne.
It has long been tradition for bonfires to be lit in loyalist areas across Northern Ireland on the night of July 11 as a way of marking the Twelfth. The platform proceedings at Barnett’s Demesne will begin at 2.30pm and the chairman for the afternoon will be the County Grand Master, Spencer Beattie. The return parade is due to leave the field and proceed towards the city centre at 3.30pm.Road closures: Road users are advised of traffic disruption throughout the day on Tuesday 12 July 2022.
