“Every time I went away, I just always wanted to work my way back home,” he told the Cape Breton Post. “It’s awesome and I don’t take it for granted. Airport director of finance and administration Angela Zorzi-Gouthro served as interim CEO between MacKinnon’s passing and Tuttle’s hiring. He spent a few years with Provincial Airlines in Halifax, before managing the Shell AeroCentre in Edmonton — a memorable time as the terminal welcomed the private planes coming to town.
“Those were all high-stress, high-tension times. There was no margin for creativity or stepping outside of the box,” he said. “In a place like this you can say ‘Hey, I think that would work. We’re going to try that,’ and do it.”
