The Barbie movie released posters for all the featured dolls. From Dua Lipa's mermaid to Barbie herself, the film has an exciting group of Barbies.
The Barbie movie doll posters are here, and Greta Gerwig did not disappoint. Since the announcement that Gerwig was taking on the film with Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as the leads, Barbie and Ken, anticipation has been high. There were rumors of popstar Dua Lipa's involvement and stories that Gerwig wanted Saoirse Ronan, but she could not make it work with her schedule. Nothing was confirmed, and fans impatiently waited months for more news.
10 Ana Cruz Kayne's Supreme Court Justice Ana Cruz Kayne worked with Gerwig once before, starring as Olivia in her 2019 Little Women adaption. This time, Kayne is playing a much more bubbly character. Kayne stars as Supreme Court Justice Barbie, though she has some physical differences from the Ruth Bader Ginsbergs of the world. Kayne's character traded the supreme court justice's robe for a teal and pink polka dot set with orange jewelry.
7 Alexandra Shipp's Author Barbie Alexandra Shipp starred in films like Love, Simon and Tick, Tick...Boom! but her role in Barbie is sure to catapult her into the spotlight. Her Barbie wears brown cat-eye glasses, so everyone can tell she's a celebrated author. There's no say on what kind of books she writes, so it depends on the direction Gerwig takes her film. She could write books on beauty and fashion or even write stories about the other dolls.
4 Hari Nef's Doctor Barbie Hari Nef's inclusion in the Barbie movie might be the most exciting. Nef is known for Assassination Nation, You, and for being the first openly transgender woman on the cover of a major British magazine when she covered Elle UK. It's incredible to see how inclusive Gerwig has been with casting her dolls, despite the original Barbie dolls not being very diverse. Nef's Barbie is a doctor and, like the other dolls, doesn't necessarily appear that way.
