Ukraine’s Eurovision commentator has stressed that the country’s victory is ‘much more than that’ after they stormed the finale in Turin, Italy., beating the UK’s Sam Ryder to the crown with their track Stefania.
Following their triumph, TV presenter and commentator Timur Miroshnychenko appeared live on Good Morning Britain where he described the feeling in Ukraine after folk-rap group’s success.‘We saw full support from all European countries. We received highest points from 40 countries. It’s an unprecedented result.
‘We haven’t really celebrated yet,’ Oleg Psyuk said. ‘We will probably have a big celebration after the war because victory is great, winning Eurovision is fantastic but there is just so much stuff going on. ‘People are getting killed in the war or they fight in the war or lose their jobs in Ukraine, it is not really the best backdrop for celebrations.’
