exhibit at Sofiero Palace in Helsingborg, Sweden is finally open!
Running from June 1st until September 26th 2021, the long-awaited exhibit displays a stunning collection of clothing from both Swedish and Danish designers. Curated by Ulrika Kyaga, a visiting researcher at Lund University and Sorbonne University in Paris, the exhibit is a commentary on the relationship between fashion and sustainability.
All of the clothing displayed is made from recycled materials, and the impressive list of designers includes Cecilie Bahnsen, Rave Review, Linda Nurk, Remake Stockholms Stadsmission, Stine Goya, Jennifer Blom, Ellen Hodakova Larsson, and Henrik Vibskov. The exhibit also showcases clothing that belongs to Crown Princess Mary of Denmark as well as creations by fashion design students from the Swedish School of Textiles, that centers around the theme of sustainability and redesign.
Located on the exhibition floor at Sofiero Castle, an old royal summer residence, situated in the picturesque landscape of Southern Sweden just north of Helsingborg, the rooms have been divided into five different themes:
